Welcome reception on arrival at the cultural capital of Pakistan, and transfer to the hotel.
Full day city tour - The historic city of Lahore has been the capital of Punjab for the last ten decades and boasts of the best collection of architecture and history.
Drive to the Tomb of Mogul Emperor Jehangir and his beloved Queen Noor Jehan adjoining the Caravan Sarai (resting place) of Emperor Akbar. Pay homage at the shrine of the learned Sufi Saint who came here in the 11th century: Daâta Hajveri. Witness the landmark of Lahore the historic Baâdshahi mosque, an intricate artwork of red sandstone and white marble.
Enter the Lahore Fort, a mosaic of Moghul architecture, with its Palace of Million Mirrors. We choose Delhi gate to enter the old walled city of Lahore, walking through the crowded bazaar enter the Wazir Khan Mosque, an artistic display of multicolour mosaic of glazed tiles and fresco painting.
In the evening visit the historic Shalimar Garden with its 414 fountains. Dinner at local Famous Food Street Overnight at hotel/GH
Visit of Moghul monuments: The 17th-century Badshahi Mosque, with marble domes and red sandstone arches.
The fort of Lahore is rightly called a mosaic of Moghul architecture as it displays the taste of all the Moghul Emperors. Lahore Museum is reputedly the best in the country, with a statue of fasting Buddha: a masterpiece of art.
Transfer to bus station for your Journey to Islamabad, overnight hotel. (4/5 Hrs Drive)
1st Option: Take a flight to Gilgit. Morning drive to Islamabad international airport for flight to Gilgit.
Pick up from GilgiAirportrt drive to Hunza Karimabad, Drive on KKH we reach Gilgit and visit the 7th century Buddha carved into the rock. In ancient times the Kargah Valley was used by Buddhist monks as a route to and from Taxila. Our tour continues along the breathtaking Hunza Valley where we will be able to see the original Silk Route used by both traders and monks.
En route, we will make a short stop at the Rakaposhi (7788m) viewpoint before arriving at Karimabad, the capital of the Hunza Valley. Overnight at Hotel. (2-3hour drive, 110 km)
2nd Option: If flight canceled we will drive toward KKH to Chilas / Narran if flight canceled we will take car / Van drive to Besham/ Chilas / Narran begin the 28km drive to Taxila, the ancient capital of Buddhist Gandhara civilization which is regarded as one of the most important archaeological sites on the sub-continent.
Here we will visit the ruins of a former city (Sirkup), a hill-top former monastery (Julian) and the splendid site museum that contains artifacts excavated from the sites. Among these are gold and silver coins from the time of Alexander the Great (326 BC).
After lunch, we head towards the Karakoram Highway (KKH) via the beautiful lush green valleys of Mansehra District Besham/ Chilas/ Narran . Overnight at a motel. (8-9 hour drive, 3500 km)
A free day in Karimabad with time for short walks to the Altit and Baltit forts, and for more exploration of the Hunza Valley.
There are superb views of the Karakoram Range from here - Rakaposhi 7788m, Diran 7266m, Ultar 7400m, Golden Peak 7027m, along with glimpses of the Nagar Valley on the other side of the river.
The friendly, long-lived people of the Hunza are almost self-sufficient, growing wheat, maize, apricots and walnuts and making their own clothes, shoes, and wooden and stone bowls. In the afternoon there will be time to walk to the Ultar Glacier by following the irrigation channel through the village or to stroll through the single-lane bazaar to enjoy more spectacular views of the mountain peaks soaring around you. Today we take a drive into the heart of the Karakoram toward Khunjerab pass/Pak China border and visit the highest pass, then back to Passu.
Visit Sost Bazar drive to Passu – Gulmit, Passu is a charming village set against a backdrop of the soaring Passu Cones, and the Passu and Batura glaciers within short walking distance.
About 70 years ago Passu was the second largest settlement in Hunza after Karimabad. Visit Passu suspension bridge There will be time for a walk through the village before Drive to Gulmit, a short trek to Borit Lake.
Our transport will meet us near Borit Lake to take us, there will be time for a walk through the village before overnight at Hotel. (1 hour, 50 km)
Morning drive towards Gilgit. Search for some precious stones along the Road near the last village of Hunza, as the area is famous for its precious stones production. Enjoy the closest view from the Karakoram Highway of Rakaposhi 7788m. See the clear impact of a continental collision near Chalt.
Arrive Gilgit (1600m) for lunch. Visit Gilgit, its suspension bridge, the rock carving Kargha Buddha and stroll down its bazaars filled with people from remote mountain valleys. Gilgit is a big market these days of Chinese and Pakistani goods. Overnight hotel (110 km, 3 hours drive ).
1st Option: Morning flight to Islamabad, if the flight is operating.
Visit Twin Cities Rawalpindi / Islamabad Full day city tour of the twin cities Rawalpindi & Islamabad. Visit Lok Virsa museum in the federal Capital of Pakistan. Raja bazaar in Rawalpindi an interesting place to visit. Shakar Parian and Damn-e-Koh the view points of Islamabad. 2nd Option: Drive to Besham/ Narran.
The view of Haramosh Peak 7409m from Karakoram Highway. Arrive at the meeting place of the world’s three highest mountain ranges: Karakoram in north, Himalayas in east and Hindokush in west.
It is also the meeting point of Lion river Indus with Gilgit river, enjoy thrilling views from this unique place of Nanga Parbat (8,125 M). Nanga Parbat is the 9th highest mountain in the world and second to K2 in Pakistan. The most beautiful view over Nanga Parbat in the South, Stop at Chilas rock carvings from the Buddhist period.
Overnight in hotel (330 6/7 hr Drive ).
Next Day drop at Islamabad international airport for your departing flight.
