My One Day Whirlwind Visit to Rome and my Private Vatican tours

vatican tour 2019

A whole year of planning our trip to Rome in Italy and it came down to one day and without a doubt the best private Vatican tours in the city of Rome. This was going to be the highlight of our holiday, and I knew we could not visit Rome without a doing some Vatican Tours would be like having peanut butter without jelly!!

With a very early start to our day we were picked up and off we went with our guide Georgio and he had the Vatican Tickets ready for us. I was a little trepidatious about this tour as we had paid a little extra for skip the line Vatican tickets, but it was totally worth it. Our guided tour of Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel were awesome, and the chambers were stunning we did rush a bit on this section which was disappointing but we spent more time in other areas.

If the Vatican Museums were anything to go by as a starter for me the main course was The Sistine Chapel, it was overwhelming it's not huge, but the attention to detail was staggering and included Vatican Museums tickets. The splendour of the ceiling was breathtaking but my neck paid for it the following day from continually looking up. Of course essential on every Vatican guided tours in Rome is The Sistine Chapel which has to be seen to be believed and the fact that Michelangelo did most of the work alone is just unbelievable he was a true artist and genius ( I felt very small and a little insignificant while I was in the Chapel I had NO words just beauty!).

We then set out towards Trastevere and  St. Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro) going across the Ponte Sant'Angelo, next to the Castle Sant'Angelo, and then along the Via Della Conciliazione.

And then we were there at St. Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro), designed by Bernini, Appears right in front of us. Our guide was brilliant he sometimes overwhelmed us with details but was very patient at the same time, I think I know everything there is to know about The Vatican he was perfect.

Strolling along the streets and seeing the ramparts and Swiss Guards protecting The Vatican City, The Pope and local Inhabitants was great seeing all the tourists lining up for pictures was hilarious. This was one of the best tours of my life, and I will never forget it, I fell in love with Rome on that day, but I am head over heels after our Vatican Private Tour. Everyone should visit Rome at least once in their lives.
