Alexandria Private Day Tour

This Tour begins with pick up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza in a Private, comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. The journey to the wonderful city of Alexandria takes approximately 3 hours with great scenery along the way.

Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt and was its capital for nearly a thousand years. This city was founded by Alexander the Great and has a more mediterranean atmosphere than Middle Eastern.

The first stop of the tour is to the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa which is the largest and most important Roman Cemetery in Egypt dating back to the Greco Roman period. See the 26.85m granite Pompey’s Pillar before heading to the citadel of Qaitbay which was built on the site of the ancient Pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria.

Also on this tour, visit the famous Roman remains, drive along the Cornish to see the entire city while passing over the Bridge of Stanly, see the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier, the Statue of Alexander the Great, the famous Alexandria Library and St. Mark Church which is the oldest church in Africa.

There is then an optional stop to try Seafood.

Finally, you are driven back to your original pick up point in Cairo or Giza.
