Overview
Today we drive to the highest mountain in Germany, Zugspitze, 2962 meters (9,718 ft.), above sea-level. We will take the cable car to the top, with the breathtaking views at the sharing summit between Germany and Austria.
Later we drive to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, two towns which were forcibly grafted together in 1935, to host the next year’s Winter Olympics. We go to the Olympic Stadium and to walk through Ludwigsstrasse (Ludwig´s Street) with its magnificent house paintings.

After the cable car ride we had the best view ever.Than the Olympia Skistadion that is an attraction that someone has to see if he visits Garmisch.
With a main entrance that brings to memory ancient's Rome stadiums is situated in Partenkirchen and has hosted Winter Olympic Games.

While the best attractions at Garmisch-Parkenkirchen are outside of the city (mountain peaks and water falls), Ludwigstrasse is a must see. Quaint street with balconies, flower boxes, and painted building fronts.

We recently enjoyed several walks through old town Garmisch. The paintings on the buildings are beautiful - be sure to take a moment to look at them. And on a Saturday evening we happened upon an orchestra in Strauss Platz wearing traditional dress and playing classic Bavarian music -

Taking a look around here was neat. Being from Canada, this was different than anything I've seen before. I really felt at peace here.
