Jewish Heritage Private Synagogue Triangle Tour

Your very own private tour guide will lead you through the most important and exciting parts of the Jewish district. This way you can have a more personal insightful look into the Jewish life and culture of Budapest, and have inward conversations with a local professional guide about the country’s history and their own, personal experiences. The tour starts whenever you want to and you can choose what to see or which destinations you want to skip from our existing tour routes. Chose the special Synagogue Triangle Private Tour, if you want to visit all three of the synagogues in the city centre and have the full experience doing it. With this 4.5 hours long tour, you can be sure that you will get all the information you would require about the Jewish aspects of Budapest. 

It includes a visit to the Dohány Street Synagogue, the Rumbach Street Synagogue and the Kazinczy Street Synagogue. At the end of the tour (or in the break), you have two options: you can accept our invitation to have a cake in the glatt kosher Fröhlich confectionery, or you can receive 10% discount in the glatt kosher Carmel restaurant. 

This tour was created for those, who would like to get an overview of the past and present of Hungarian Jewry’s and would like to understand the differences between Hungary's main religious wings. With the help of English-speaking guides, you will be acquainted with the most important chapters of the history and culture of the Hungarian Jewry.

3 – Rumbach Street Synagogue outside visit 

4 – Jewish Museum with local guiding where you get acquainted with the Hungarian Jewish heritage through a unique collection of art pieces from Hungary and Eastern Europe, and the rich tradition of Judaism, its holidays and everyday life. A separate room commemorates the Holocaust in Hungary. 

5 – Interior visit of the Dohány Street Synagogue which is the largest operating synagogue in Europe and the second largest in the world. 

6 – Martyrs’ Cemetery 

7 – Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park 

8 – Tree of Life Memorial 

9 – Heroes’ Temple – (outside visit) 

10 – Jewish Centre where you can visit the Family Research Center 

After a short break, we continue our walk through the Jewish Quarter, on the streets of the former Budapest Ghetto, which hosts synagogues, monuments, kosher restaurants, and kosher shops. While your guide tells you important facts and local stories of this area, you also get basic information about Budapest.
