Overview

The famous Taj Mahal is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was commissioned in 1631 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (reigned 1628-1658), in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638 when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Agra Fort is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Fatehpur Sikri is a small city in northern India, founded by a 16th-century Mughal emperor and where red sandstone buildings cluster at its centre. Here you will see the magnificent Buland Darwaza gate at the entrance to Jama Masjid mosque. Nearby you will see the marble Tomb of Salim Chishti. You will also visit Diwan-E-Khas hall which has a carved central pillar. Jodha Bais Palace is another place we will visit. It is a mix of Hindu and Mughal styles, next to the 5-story Panch Mahal that overlooks the site.

Thanks to the help of our tour guide Chandan we made the most out of the day and were able to see the impressive sites, learn the history and ask lots of questions! The guide was friendly and answered all our questions and gave us lots of additional information.

Chandan is the must-have guide, his knowledge is outstanding, and he provided so much extra information. He whizzed us through the queues and pointed out so much that I would have missed if he wasn't there.  
As a solo lady, I felt well looked after, including at lunch and the Agra Fort, no pressure at all, in fact, Chandan really helped me save money throughout the day. Lunch was delicious. 
I highly recommend him!

I can’t recommend a better guide than Chandan. He ensured us smooth passage to the Taj Mahal, and his Knowledge is extensive. From architecture to the love story, the playful nature of light upon the magnificent wonder, and to the history of Agra, I learned a lot and had a great today.

We had a fantastic tour provided by Delhi Routes. Our guide, Chandan, helped immensely and was very knowledgeable about the history and details of the Taj Mahal. It can get very busy with crowds and long queues, but Chandan helped get us through expeditiously. He also had many great contacts if you are looking for souvenirs or places to eat. Great job!
