The Manaslu Mountain in itself is the world’s 8th tallest mountain and being in its foothill will be full of fantastic adventures.
Trekking starts from the scenic drive to Dhadingbeshi-Aarughat from Kathmandu.
Aarughat is a small happening town lying on the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River, connecting the Dhading and Gorkha district of Nepal. The bus drive to Soti Khola passing by Aarkhet will be very scenic making for many photo opportunities.
Once you have started walking from Soti you will negotiate unlimited streams, crossing numerous times using the suspension bridge which adds to the wilderness adventure flavour of your trekking in the Manaslu region.
The word Manaslu is very pristine as it means soul or intellect in Sanskrit. This mountain is full of spirit and will rub its spirited soul into your intellectual mind, leaving you feeling revitalized once you go back to your home country.
After trekking for almost 13 days, the demanding and scenic snow-covered Larkey La Pass will appear on your trekking trail. The trail leads you to the high camp of Mount Manaslu from where you can view the prolific mountains.
From here trekking moves towards the Bhul Bule of the Lamjung district from where the bus drive will take you back to Kathmandu.

Hours of walking: 6. Difficulty: Moderate. Elevation reached: 1350m.
Terrain: Gentle inclines, forest paths. Views on offer: The surrounding mountains, lush green forests. Highlights: Hopefully you will see some endangered species in the forests. What’s to see: Lots of wildlife and natural hot springs.

Hours of walking: 7.5. Difficulty: Moderate. Elevation reached: 1860m.
Terrain: Some moderate inclines and rocky tracks, “Nepali flat” and riverbank trails. Views on offer: Bamboo forests, snow-capped peaks and the surrounding Himalayas. Highlights: Crossing the River Budhigandaki on some impressive suspension bridges. What’s to see: Many Buddhist memorial sites.

Hours of walking: 6. Difficulty: Moderate. Elevation reached: 2660m.
Terrain: Some steep inclines, hilly terrain and “Nepali flat.” Views on offer: The Ganesh Himal Range. Highlights: The spectacular views. What’s to see: The local Buddhist monastery in Namrung.

Hours of walking: 4. Difficulty: Moderate. Elevation reached: 3180m.
Terrain: Some steep inclines and rocky paths. Views on offer: Manaslu Mountain, Naike Peak, Himalchuli Mountain, Sinnang Mountain. Highlights: The views of course! Watching the monkeys play in the trees. What’s to see: Buddhist chortens and manis, grazing yaks, grey langur monkeys and an ornate monastery in Lhogaon.

Highlights: Visiting Birendra Lake, if you visit in the monsoon season you will see its crystal blue waters, in contrast, if it is winter the lake will be a spectacle of glistening ice. What’s to see: The local people and houses of the traditional villages and magnificent scenery.

Hours of walking: 4. Difficulty : Moderate. Elevation reached: 3860m.
Terrain: Steep descents, well-defined trekking paths. Views on offer: The mountains and Manaslu become more prominent. Highlights: Reaching the serenity of higher altitudes. What’s to see: You will see all vegetation disappearing as the altitude increases.

Terrain: Narrow tracks, riverbank trails, gentle inclines. Views on offer: The surrounding Himalayas. Highlights: Walking through the wilderness with only the mountains for company. What’s to see: The scenery, there are no villages or people for a while, so enjoy the peaceful environments.

Hours of walking: 8. Difficulty: Difficult. Elevation reached: 5106m on the Larkya pass and 3610m at Bimthang.
Terrain: Steep inclines, rocky and narrow trails. Views on offer: Cho Danda, Larkya Peak, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru Himal and Annapurna II Highlights: Standing on the Larkya Glacier and Larkya La Pass for the most spectacular views. What’s to see: The village of Tanbuche and mountains as far as the eye can see.

Terrain: Steep descents and forest trails. Views on offer: Snowy Peaks and the River Valley. Highlights: Returning to lower altitudes! What’s to see: Rhododendron, pine and bamboo tree forests.

Hours of walking: 1. Difficulty: Easy. Elevation reached: 1920m at Dharapani and 760m at Besi Sahar.
Terrain: Steep descents and forest trails. Views on offer: Last views of the mountains today! Highlights: The last day of walking, congratulations on finishing your trek. What’s to see: Local villages and farmland.
