Birdwatching near Tavira
Overview
We will walk around the saltpans of Santa Luzia, near Tavira.
During the autumn, many waders can be seen feeding in the shallow lagoons, preaparing for migration.
Where the water is deeper, Flamingos, Herons, Spoonbils and Egrets can be seen together. It is also one of the best places to see the scarce Slender-billed Gull and Audouin's Gulls, sometimes in big numbers.
