Our private driver/guide will pick you up at your Hotel and will drive you to Aveiro.
We arrive in Aveiro after a stop to relax and take a drink or eat. Upon arrival, disembark your vehicle and board a moliceiro, a colorful boat traditionally used to collect seagrass from the Aveiro lagoon.
Our driver/guide will lead you to the city’s main sites like Statues on the bridges, Aveiro Cathedral and Costa Nova beach.
Aveiro Cathedral, also known as a São Domingos Church, is located in an old Dominican convent and should be on your list of the places to visit and things to do in Aveiro.
Costa Nova beach, also know as Costa Nova do Prado, is located on the west coast, 11 km from the Aveiro historic centre. The beach has as its main attraction the beautiful houses painted in a unique way, with vertical and horizontal stripes.
Lunchtime is at approximately 1PM (this is NOT included in the tour price) at Aveiro City.
Enjoy dishes of excellent regional cooking, with good-value, high-quality from Seafood Cataplana (traditional seafood stew), the grilled cuttlefish and all kindsand bacalhau (codfish).
Don't forget the desert and satisfy your sweet tooth with ovos moles (authentic sweets).
After lunch, proceed to Costa Nova, home to gorgeous sandy stretches inhabited by exotic bird species. Capture photographs of the lighthouse and the colorful houses that line the beachfront before returning to your vehicle for the scenic drive back to Lisbon.
At 4:00PM is time to go back to Lisbon with a stop during the drive at Santarém (Capital of Gothic) (60Km from Lisbon) to visit Santarém's main square, Praça Sá da Bandeira. Here was the scene of the gruesome execution of Inês de Castro's murderers in 1357 and not far from there is the Portas do Sol Park with commanding views over the Tagus River and the plains of the Ribatejo province.
