Overview

2-Day Troy and Gallipoli Tour from Istanbul kicks off early in the morning, meeting your guide in central Istanbul to step on your comfy vehicle for a voyage to Gallipoli’s historic battlefields.

After about a four-hour journey, arrive in Gallipoli to learn about the long and dreadful WWI campaign fought between the Ottoman Turks and Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC). Learn the story about the many soldiers who fell in Gallipoli for nearly eight months of the war as you walk with your guide through this historic site. See the most poignant Australian memorial section - Lone Pine.

Go to Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial and discover a rare battleground where Allied troops were triumphant, but only for a short period. Continue to ANZAC Cove, where most battles had been fought to pay your heartfelt respects to the soldiers who we lost. Walk through Ari Burnu Cemetery, where 200 servicemen lay forever. See more memorials at Beach Cemetery, Brighton Beach, and the shady trenches at Johnson’s Jolly.

On the next day, head to Nusrat minelayer and Cimenlik Castle. Begin your walking tour and discover how Troy evolved and became a Bronze Age dwelling from a series of small villages only to fall as a Byzantine town. Hear about the old history of Troy and the Greek mythology of the Trojan War.

Be dazzled by these historical ruins and then see the timber-built Trojan Horse, the town’s icon. Afterwards, spend some free time snapping photos and walking around exploring the ruins at your own pace. Continue through one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, the 4,000-year-old city of Troy. Discover how Troy is thought to be the first place where people connected from the Mediterranean region and Anatolia (ancient Asia).

Finally, return to your Istanbul lodging where your tour ends in the late evening.
