Perfect for Thrill Seekers on a Tour of Lycian
The amazing endless coastline, canyons and rivers of southern Turkey is the perfect playground for adventures on land and sea.
Saklikent Canyon is one of the most magnificent natural phenomena in the Taurus Mountains, and throughout the millennia, the fast-flowing and icy cold Esen River has cut a deep canyon in the ancient rocks. There is also a fantastic opportunity to go tubing depending on the season, which is a fun activity where you sit in a circular rubber tube with a paddle and head off down the river.
Try scuba-diving in Kas which has some of the best diving sites in the Mediterranean, and if you're lucky it is possible to see turtles and Triggerfish!
The mountains behind Kas are full of deep canyons, but we usually visit the Kibris Canyon, that has some of the most spectacular natural phenomena among the Taurus Mountains. An impressive gorge, where springs and waterfalls cascade into the rapidly flowing cold river and is ideal for canyoning, abseiling, swimming and plunging into the pools of mountain water.
There is also a free day to relax and enjoy more of the local sights or, for the more adventurous, optional paragliding. The beautiful scenery and chilled out atmosphere in Kas make it a fantastic base for the week.
Spend a full day trying sea kayaking in the sheltered bay near Kekova Island and is a superb low impact way to explore the island. This fantastic spot is located on a peninsula and is inaccessible by road, and a hilltop Ottoman castle overlooks the village with excellent views of the whole bay.
Hop on the bikes and head up into a cedar forest, following the trails in the wooded valleys and the Kibris Gorge which is on the left, with some fast descents and challenging climbs to the highest point of 1450m Akörü. The day ends with long fast descents on rough tracks, and ultimately on to mountain roads.

You will be collected from Dalaman Airport, so there are no activities planned for today, so you are free to arrive in Kas any time and have some relax time when you arrive at your hotel.
Saklikent Canyon is one of the most magnificent natural phenomena in the Taurus Mountains, and throughout the millennia, the fast flowing and icy cold Esen River has cut a deep canyon in the ancient rocks.
By using a walkway, we explore the mouth of the canyon (entrance to Saklikent Canyon is payable locally) and, depending on the season, you can go further in by getting our feet wet! Waterproof sandals will come in handy (or plastic shoes can be rented locally).
There is also a fantastic opportunity to go tubing depending on the season, which is a fun activity in which you sit in a circular rubber tube with a paddle and head off down the river.
After a relaxing lunch near the mouth of the canyon, we take a short transfer to the start of our walk.
The route offers a combination of great views and Roman ruins before arriving at Patara beach (entrance to Patara National Park is payable locally) one of the most beautiful in Turkey, where we can relax and swim in the turquoise sea.
Today you have the chance to try scuba diving, and we use a highly recommended PADI registered dive school for this with top-quality European equipment and a purpose-built dive boat.
For beginners, you can do a 'Try Dive' course, with a one-on-one dive with an instructor.
Qualified divers have the opportunity to have a couple of boat dives.
Kas has some of the best diving sites in the Mediterranean, and if you're lucky it is possible to see turtles and Triggerfish!
The group is usually split in two, depending on the size of the group, with one-half diving in the morning and the other half in the afternoon.
All dives, including the "Try Dives" are from the dive boat and during your free time, there are opportunities to soak up the sun.
Those who do not wish to scuba dive may take the excursion and snorkel instead.
You must be in good health and will be asked to sign a medical disclaimer and show a doctor's certificate for any medical conditions and qualified divers will be required to show proof of qualification.
We will provide you with a wetsuit, harness and a helmet and you must be a good swimmer, and light walking shoes (or old trainers) are vital.
The day is long and can be strenuous at times so please make sure you have a good physical fitness level, have a head for heights, and to see if you are brave enough to jump a few metres into pools of water although at no point is jumping obligatory as there is always the option to climb, abseil or walk down at these points.
Today you will have a free day for you to do as little or as much as you like with options including more SCUBA diving, a Turkish bath, a local hike or walk or just some time to look around Kas.
For the more adventurous and adrenaline-seeking, you will get an opportunity to take a paragliding flight where the start point is 600 metres above sea level, and the flight takes you out over Kas and the surrounding islands.
All these options are at an extra charge.
Today we spend a full day trying sea kayaking in the sheltered bay near Kekova Island.
The day starts early in the morning, and we will depart at around 7:30 for a 50 min (approximately) journey to Ucagiz Village.
After preparations and some technical briefing, we will paddle towards the island and the site of the famous sunken city, and although it is no Atlantis, you can make out the harbour walls that are disappearing into the sea and see the layout of the rooms and houses below the water.
Kayaking is a superb low impact way to explore the site. Later we will paddle to the village of Simena (Castle Village) to enjoy some lunch.
This fantastic spot is located on a peninsula and is inaccessible by road, and a hilltop Ottoman castle overlooks the village with excellent views of the whole bay.
If you want to take part in this fun activity, you should be able to swim and have the physique necessary to fit in the kayak.
We will travel for about 1.5 hours to the start point in Sütlegen, that is at 1200m.
We will then hop on the bikes and head up into a cedar forest, following the trails in the wooded valleys and the Kibris Gorge which is on the left, with some fast descents and challenging climbs to the highest point of 1450m Akörü.
After a delicious home-made village house lunch, we head towards the sea, either through Sinekci or Izne village, depending on the season.
The day ends with long fast descents on rough tracks, and ultimately on to mountain roads, all the way back to our hotel in Kas.
This activity is fully supported by our driver and minibus in addition to our guides, meaning it's possible to opt out of any part of the ride.
Ride approx 50km. Min. height to fit bikes: 1.52m
Our adventure ends after breakfast today, and you will be transferred back to Dalaman Airport or enjoy an extension.
