This morning the tour guide will pick you up from your Beijing downtown hotel lobby at around 7:00 am based on the hotel location.
It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours driving from downtown area to Mutianyu Great Wall. Your knowledgeable tour guide will give you an explication of the Great Wall and the related Chinese history and culture on the way. Built mainly with granite, Mutianyu Great Wall was opened to tourists on May Day in 1986, the second Great Wall site opened to tourists after Badaling section.
Watchtowers are tensely distributed along the Mutianyu Great Wall, and the surrounding natural scenery is also breath-taking. You will find it is covered by woods and bushes over ninety-six percent of the total scenic area, and that is why it's recognized as the best-preserved section of Great Wall. Today you will hike and explore this best-preserved Great Wall section, lunch will be served at local nice restaurant.
At the end of the tour, the guide will transfer you back to downtown and drop you off at the hotel or nearby subway station.

My sister and I had the best time exploring these beautiful places with our guide. Even though it was in winter, the sun was shining. We wanted to get to know the basics about the architecture and sights of the city on our second day, so we pre-booked this tour before we visited. Our guide was amazing and really knew her history. My sister and I recommend this tour and the guide.

We knew we were in good hands as soon as we met our guide. You could tell she was really passionate about her city. I had never taken a private tour before and I can highly recommend it. It is a much better experience as you are not herded like a bunch of sheep and have to try and keep up with the crowd. Definitely a recommended tour and thank you.

Our children surprised us with a trip to Beijing and were we glad that they pre-booked this private tour. The Great Wall was stunning and the whole experience was well organized. We felt like royalty as we passed many large tour groups and we were a group of two. This tour is a must-try for anyone visiting the beautiful city of Beijing!
