Overview

At approx. 8:30 am, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your centrally located Beijing hotel lobby. Travel with your guide in a comfortable private vehicle to your first stop, the Ming Tombs Scenic Area, where lie the mausoleums of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).

You will visit the Dingling Tomb, the mausoleum of the thirteenth emperor, Zhu Yijun and his two empresses. The whole tomb is divided into two parts: aboveground and underground. On the ground, it consists of a stone bridge, a-stele pavilion and other accessories. The highlight is the stone Underground Palace, which was discovered between 1956 and 1958 and had plenty of precious relics unearthed. On the way, you will stop and see the full view of the Bird's Nest if time permits.

After having lunch at a local restaurant, you will proceed to the Mutianyu Great Wall located in Huairou district, about 80 km north from downtown Beijing. Mutianyu Section works as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs, it is less crowded and known for its beautiful surroundings with vegetation, green pines and cypresses covering 90 percent of the area. Hike up the Great Wall along the stone steps, enjoy the beautiful scenery and the tensely distributed Watchtowers. Cable car and Toboggan are optional at your own expense.

The tour was awesome. The tombs were good, but the wall was exceptional. Our guide provided a lot of detailed history about the wall which I found very interesting. We went for local Chinese lunch as well.

We were picked up from our hotel and everything went very smoothly. The guides English was very good and he shared many good stories. The timing was great and having our own guide and driver was the icing on the cake.

As I have certain health issues I wanted to make sure that I would be able to manage the Great Wall. Our guide really looked after me. I took the cable car and could stroll around at my leisure, My husband and I want to thank this company for being so caring.

The most amazing place I have ever visited. This tour was excellent and we did add the cable car and toboggan to our tour, which I highly recommend as there is a lot of walking.

Great team to work with and so easy to book online. The tour was perfect! Our guide met us in our hotel lobby, and our driver was waiting for us out front. The driver was very friendly, and did a great job driving through the city and surrounding area. There are no words to describe the Great Wall, the views are stunning, especially on a good day. It was slightly misty when we went which for me, added to the magical atmosphere of the site. The Dingling Tomb was interesting and we enjoyed it, but the Wall…we will never forget it. Thank you for this tour and for making our day special.
