Overview

Venture into the fantasy world of Game of Thrones® as you tour some of Northern Ireland's most memorable filming locations from the hit HBO® series. After a rest stop that breaks up the drive, we stop by the Dark Hedges, where you will stroll beneath the dramatically arched trees, snap photos of the natural wonder, and hear from your guide why it was chosen for the scene of Arya's nailbiting escape from King's Landing.

Next stop is the Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland's only UNESCO World Heritage site and one of its most visited attractions. Enjoy the spectacular landscapes, made up of some 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions.

Next, continue to the picturesque coastal village of Ballintoy, where you'll have around 40 minutes of free time. Hear how Ballintoy Harbour served as the location for Theon Greyjoy's return to the Iron Islands, as well as scenes such as Theon's baptism, Euron's crowning, the burning of bannermen by Stannis and Melisandre, and the burial of Balon Greyjoy. We will drive along the Causeway coastal route and go through little towns like Ballycastle where you can enjoy views of Sheep Island and Rathlin Island etc.

After that, we drive through the Glens of Antrim to go to Belfast. You will spend around 45 minutes of free time to admire the city sights.

From April 11th to September 1st only, visit the GAME OF THRONES™: THE TOURING EXHIBITION with authentic props, costumes and majestic settings from all seven seasons to create an interactive and immersive Game of Thrones® experience. On days we are visiting the Touring Exhibition, the tour will not include the visit at the Ballintoy Harbour, in order to make time for the exhibition.

See the famous Crown bar, Belfast City Hall and it's Titanic memorial garden, Big Fish and Albert’s Clock etc. So stretch your legs, or grab some food (own expense) at one of the many cafes or restaurants. Your tour ends back in central Dublin around 7:30pm/ 8:30pm.

Last minute booking at privatetour.com and off we go to the Giants Causeway from Dublin City Gallery with Mick as our driver and Brian as our guide, Recapped on our history and what a way to hear it, Brian was a great tour guide, very informative and made the journey very interesting. Dunluce Castle, Giants Causeway, and then the Dark Hedges. Remarkable places to visit in out home country.Everything went very smoothly and the weather even held up, it truly was a remarkable experience. Its all about timing and getting the group back on time for each stop and Brian and Mick managed it well. Definitely recommend, privatetour.com. Our Next trip is to New Grange!! Cant wait!

Our driver Michael was quite informative, helpful and made sure we were aware that this was not a guided tour, but that he would explain where he took us, it's significance and guaranteed us the allotted times to explore each place. He surely delivered! I actually loved that he let us go freely and explore each destination. Definitely worth it if you want a simple, straightforward shuttle/tour experience to these amazing, and beautiful destinations in the Northern Ireland countryside and coast. I would definitely book again!

We took the Giant’s Causeway tour today. Brian was our tour guide and Alex was our driver. They were very professional and kept us on schedule. We stopped for a photo at a castle and spent time at the dark hedges. It was a full day but an enjoyable day. I can definitely recommend this tour.

My daughter and I are touring the British Isles to celebrate her high school graduation. We chose this tour for the later departure time. Nathan and Michael led a great tour. The scenery is breathtaking! Walking down to these locations will give your calves quite a workout, but the reward is well worth it. It was a long but awesome day.

The crazy thing about this trip was that I booked it at 11pm the night before with privatetour.com. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend an entire day traveling north but I’m so glad I did. Adam the driver and David the tour guide were incredible. David spent the trip up to the Giants Causeway telling us about the history of Ireland and adding his own personal life experiences which made it super interesting. Once we got there, we had plenty of time to see the Giant’s Causeway before we had to leave. I believe we were given 2 hours which is more than enough. They took us to the Dark Hedges known as the King’s Road in Game of Thrones and David even offered to take pictures for you. Overall, I’d highly recommend this trip and if you get lucky enough to end up with Adam and David, you’re in for an unforgettable experience.

We did this as a last minute alternative to another day in Dublin and this was one of the best vacation decisions my wife and I have ever made. Nathan was a great guide, full of information delivered intelligently with plenty of humor. Ed was a skillful driver who kept the trip comfortable and safe. It was a long day but we were engaged the entire time. The most impressive part was how hard they worked to keep things going well and to ensure that everyone was having a positive experience. Nathan seemed like he was everywhere, offering individual attention, answering questions and giving up pearls of information at each of the stops, and on Dublin as well. Definitely worthwhile!
