Overview

Experience the Wicklow Mountains Tour from Dublin, including stunning Glendalough, on this day trip from Dublin. Late lunch/early dinner in Fitzgerald's Pub. The day tour of Wicklow is guaranteed to be one of the highlights of your visit to Ireland.

You may arrive a stranger but you will leave a friend. Your most memorable day in Ireland is enhanced by our award-winning Wicklow Mountains Tour guides. Absorb their tall tales and legends of Glencree Valley and the famous Sally Gap. Soak up the breathtaking Wicklow mountain scenery and rolling green countryside at locations made famous by movies such as Braveheart, P.S. I Love You & TV series Vikings.

The stunning scenery of our route includes Glencree Valley, a photo stop at the Guinness Lakes (Tay), the boglands and heather fields of the Sally gap and Glendalough. Situated in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, the 10th century monastic round tower settlement in Glendalough is the jewel in the crown of the Wicklow Mountains Tour. Offering up leisurely (or more challenging) walkways to the lower and upper lakes, Glendalough is a must for any visit to Ireland.

Make sure you have your camera at the ready! Then into Fitzgerald's Pub for a hearty late lunch-early dinner (meal deal special with complimentary drink available for all on board).

We decided to go with the tour to the Wicklow mountains, and I’m so happy we did! Not only was the scenery breathtaking and the weather outstanding, but the tour guide (Eoin) also was crazy good and you could really tell he loves his job. Very informative and a lot of fun. I’ve never had a tour guide talk that much and still everything he had to say was interesting. Thank you so much, Eoin, hope you have nice summer!

Firstly, nice and comfortable coach bus with USB ports. Bring chargers. Richie was a good driver navigating the mountain roads, a knowledgeable guide and is a genuinely nice person. We had to deviate from the advertised tour due to road closures from the snow storm (Beast of the East) at the beginning of March. Went to Gardens of Powerscourt near the village of Enniskerry where some walked around the gardens, some went to the Avoca shops and cafe. We travelled on mountain roads to Roundwood-Luggala and got out to view the lake. Enjoyed the scenery as we travelled to Glendalough, a sixth-century monastery ruins, cemetery and 2 lakes. Some of our group of 55 hiked the upper lake or did their own exploring. A group of about 20 stayed with our driver Richie and viewed the cemetery and walked the lower lake and viewed the waterfall (about 3.5 miles). We re-boarded the bus promptly at the established time and travelled to a restaurant/Inn for late lunch before returning to Dublin.

Just returned from a grand full day tour with privatetour.com to The Wicklow Mountains. The weather was warm and (mostly) sunny, and the scenery beautiful - but the day was made by the irrepressible EoinP (the man, the legend), our driver & narrator for the day - the guy is a HOOT! We're not quite sure how he keeps it coming, but he's just a non-stop raconteur: the locals, the sights, random joggers, other motorists, history, politics, economics, flora & fauna - it's all great craic & seemingly bottomless...we came away with a renewed appreciation for Dublin, the Irish and the local culture in general. Do not hesitate to take this trip - and if you're lucky enough to find Eoin in the driving seat, then you can rest assured that you're all set up for a great day out. Highly Recommended.

We recently took this day trip and found it to be one of the best parts about our time in Ireland. Eoin was our tour guide and his infectious personality and knowledge of the area in addition to the incredible scenery made the trip so remarkable. The weather started off poorly but thankfully it cleared in time to see the amazing views of Guinness Lake and Glendalough. It was absolutely breathtaking and unforgettable! In addition to the awesome sightseeing, Eoin gave us a detailed history of the areas we were passing through. At the end of the trip, our tour stopped at a pub in a small town on our way back to Dublin which was delicious.
