Elephant Trunk Hill

1 Elephant Trunk Hill is one of the main landmarks in Guilin. Located in Xiangshan Park near the Taohua River and Li River, it has been a famous tourist attraction ever since the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907). The hill looks like a huge elephant taking a drink from the water of the river. There are many beautiful scenes around the hill, but also some ancient buildings, like the Puxian Pagoda, Sarira Dagoba, and Yunfeng Temple.

Reed Flute Cave

2 Located about five kilometers northwest of Guilin, the Reed Flute Cave is a fantastic cave and is a must for your travel itinerary. The cave got its name from the reeds growing outside it, with which people make flutes. Inside this water-eroded cave are a magical world of stalactites, stone pillars, and rock formations. Illuminated by colored lighting, the brilliant sight is found in various variations in this 240-meter-long cave.

Li River

In Guilin, the climate in January is the coldest with an average temperature of around 8 C (46 F), while July is the warmest with a temperature of 28 C (82 F). Summer here is the rainy season but mainly in May and June, the best time to travel here is from April to October.
