District Six Museum
5 Take a guided tour of District Six Museum which was established in 1994 to tell the history of District Six. It was a district originally established as a mixed community of freed slaves, merchants, artisans, labourers and immigrants but by the start of the 20th century the process of removals and marginalisation began and the first to be forced out were black South Africans. It is a fascinating and emotional museum.

Seal Island
9 A great private tour to take is the one to see Seal Island. It is a small land mass off the northern beaches of False Bay near Cape Town and named Seal Island because of the vast number of Cape fur seals that occupy it. It is fascinating to watch from the boat, the seals as they lounge blissfully scratching themselves or arching their backs as if they are doing yoga. While you are on the boat, watch out for sharks swimming around too!
