This was a good tour, well organized and run like clockwork. We toured Hoover dam, then enjoyed a nice deli lunch and cruise on lake mead. The recorded commentary on the boat was hard to hear, esp. Inside when eating lunch, but once we went and stood under a speaker outside it was good. Unfortunately, there was an elevator Problem at Hoover dam, so we're not able to ride down to see the inner workings of the dam. This was of no fault of the tour, but it was a bit disappointing. We also were granted the tour of the chocolate factory, cactus garden and photo Stop at the Las Vegas sign. There is a lot packed into this tour, and made possible by the great clockwork planning.

A great tour! Impressed with the departure terminal as a nice variety of snacks and drinks. Very clean premises and the Grayline bus was immaculate and very comfortable. Our tour guide Jerry was informative and very personable. The Hoover Dam tour was very nice and our fears of the children loosing interest didn't happen. They were excited as we went down below the damn (5 stories!) and viewed the turbines and inter working of the dam. Then we were off to Lake Mead for lunch and tour on the paddle boat Desert Princess. Great deli lunch and we enjoyed viewing all of the lake on each of the 3 decks. Last stop at Ethel M's chocolate factory and cactus garden which was amazing with great chocolates and activities for the kids. Overall, an excellent experience with great comfort, tour guide and places to see. We really felt as though we received allot of value on this tour from Grayline.

Visited Hoover Dam and did the Lake Mead Cruise. The deli style lunch that was included in our package was delish. If you wanted, you could also order from the grill. Alcohol was available, but we did not imbibe. They gave alot of history and facts about the dam and the Lake as we enjoyed a relazing, if chilly ride. There was plenty of indoor seating, so you do not have to worry about being cold on the ride. To learn alot and see the Dam from a different prespective, I highly recommend this tour.

We really wanted to see Hoover Dam and thought adding the Lake Mead Cruise would be nice. The lineup at the dam was very long and we were told it wasn't as busy as it could be. We had 1.5 hours at the dam but we were 1 hour in line for the power plant tour. By the time we got back to the surface from the tour inside the dam, we only had 10 minutes to get back to the bus. There were two other groups on the bus that were late getting back to the bus and we almost missed out boat cruise. The driver called ahead and had them delayed the cruise. I wish we would have had more time to walk around the top of the dam and take photos. The power plant tour was interesting but I would have rather spent my time walking around the outside.
The lunch cruise was very nice. I'm glad we added it to the tour. Drinks were available on the boat and they made a great Bloody Mary.
Our bus driver/ tour guide was very good. Knowledgeable and entertaining.

Enjoyed both the tour and cruise. Would recommend the bus driver inform the tour participants that no food is permitted on the Hoover Dam tour. We had just bought food items at the Gray Line terminal and placed them in our backpack which we took with us on the tour. We had our binoculars and sun screen and other items as well in the backpack. We had to leave the food items at the check in area for the Hoover Dam. The other option was to go back to the bus. A simple announcement would have been helpful as there was at least one other couple, that we know of, that was in the same predicament.

This was an awesome tour! We were picked up on time in a coach bus and taken to the boarding station to get the passes for the tour and bused up to the Hoover Dam. Our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable about the area and the Hoover Dam. You view a 10 minute movie in a theater about the Dam and are taken 500 feet below surface to view the inner-aspects of the Dam very cool! You are then free to explore the Dam, take pictures, visit knowledge center's, etc. The boating portion of our trip was canceled due to mechanical issues we were promptly refunded this portion by Viator so we were bused to a restaurant/casino for lunch which wasn't problematic at all. Not only do you get to site see at the Dam, but also the trip to and from. This is well organized by the company and I highly recommend this deal for anyone interested in a visit. Please do plan about 8 hours for this excursion-we were picked up at 9:00am and dropped off at about 4:30pm. Also, don't forget to tip!

Our tour was GREAT. We had beautiful weather, around 70 - Mike our bus tour guide was really funny and entertaining. The tour at the dam was really good, very little waiting. The Lake Mead tour on the Paddle Wheel boat was lovely - just over an hour, nice and relaxing and great view of the dam and lunch hit the spot. While Ethel M's factory tour was quick - we were there for the 500,000+ holiday cactus lighting. It was OUTSTANDING. What a lovely walk through the garden at 4:30 when the lights came on, it truly was SPECTACULAR, made the stop there well worth it. Be prepared this is an all day trip - we were picked up at 9 and returned to our hotel at 5:30 - all well worth it.

My sister and I loved this tour..... other reviews complained about time at the dam but there was plenty of time to see it all and shop if you just put a little pep in your step .... we took tons of pictures and still have time to roam around the entire creation and head across into Arizona and be in two states at one time. We loved the way this tour was run it was simple to follow and our Tour Bus Driver (Mike) was very entertaining. The lake mead cruise was beautiful and lunch was satisfying. The Ethel M chocolate factory stop was just an added bonus and the stop at the Las Vegas sign was PERFECT since otherwise we probably would have had to pay a cab to get there and take a picture. Overall we would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see the dam and lake mead in the same outing. it was GREAT esp for the value.

The tour itself was good and I really liked our driver but I really didn't appreciate the fact that I had to walk to a different hotel to be picked up. The walk was not far but I am a young woman (29) that was alone and had to walk back in the dark at the end of the tour. There was no reason I couldn't be dropped off at my hotel, as I was the only person getting off at the hotel they dropped me off at. I thought that was really lazy and unnecessary.

Today had a tour called "Hoover Dam-Lake Mead Cruise" tour from Las Vegas.
Picked up at 7:35 drove around for an hour, picked up nobody and were still on the strip.
Expected to have a dam tour but instead were sent on the powerhouse tour, not the same.
Everything else, bus, driver, lunch boat and tour were fine. Once again, the driver, Bud, made the day.

My wife and I are senior citizens and, like many other senior citizens, own a Passport to Your National Parks. So our bucket list is to visit as many National Parks as possible and verify our visits by collecting the stamps available at the Parks' Visitors Centers. Needless t say we were miffed and greatly disappointed when our tour did not make a stop at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area's Visitor Center so that we could obtain the stamp offered at this location. This plus the brevity of the tour of the Dam is why I rate this tour average.

First let me say, that Hoover Dam was a wonder. Well worth the visit. However, the time allotted to us was not enough to enjoy the area around the dam. We did the tour, and were able to spend 10 minutes or so on the observation deck, then we hustled back to the bus, so as not to be late. The Lake Mead cruise was relaxing and just the right length (90 minutes). Lunch on board was welcome (sandwich, chips, fruit and beverage). We did not, however, have a lot of free time to shop at the pier beforehand, and none after. But those are only minor points. The biggest issue we had was getting around. Pick ups took at least 90 minutes. Traffic, latecomers and numerous hotel stops were to blame. We wish we had been given the option to go to the Grayline terminal on our own, as we could have slept later. Traffic to the Dam was awful, which resulted in us having less time to sightsee once we got there. After our Ethel M. Chocolate Factory stop (25 minutes) we headed back to town, where once again we encountered horrible traffic. In addition, drop offs started at Fremont Street and continued south well past the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Someone who was at the last stop computed their travel time at 90 minutes! Unacceptable. Scores of passengers left the bus before their stops just to get off and do something other than sit on the bus for so long. In no way was this the driver's fault. We loved the places we went, but literally 6 of our 10 hours (start to finish), were spent on the road. Not what we expected (thus the 3 out of 5 stars). Grayline, please reconsider the planning aspect of this trip,
